Montréal, April 21, 2011 – Videotron is pleased to announce the official launch of its mobile services in a number of Québec municipalities. The service is now available to more than 4 million people across nearly 90% of Videotron's service area, including the Saguenay-Lac Saint-Jean, Centre du Québec, Montérégie, Mauricie, Lanaudière, Sherbrooke, Chaudières-Appalaches, Montréal, Québec City and Laurentians regions. The Québec telecommunications leader's mobile offerings have brought consumers and businesses the latest mobile technology on one of the most robust networks anywhere, delivering the best value for the money.
We are excited to announce the arrival of our state-of-the-art mobile service in a string of new communities, including Joliette, Sorel-Tracy, Châteauguay, Sainte-Marie de Beauce and Montmagny, to name just a few, said Robert Dépatie, President & CEO of Videotron. When we launched our mobile service in September 2010, our goal was to make it available to virtually our entire customer base by the end of 2011. This roll-out is an important step towards that goal. However, it is just as important for us to reach customers in new markets such as Alma, which is just joined the Videotron community. They can now enjoy the Videotron experience by taking advantage of two of our products, mobile telephone and mobile Internet service.
