A ray of hope and comfort for families affected by illness: Videotron proud to partner with 7th Grand sapin de Sainte-Justine campaign

November 30, 2014 - Press Release

Montréal, December 1, 2014 – Videotron is joining forces with the Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation to encourage the public to give generously to the 7th Grand sapin de Sainte-Justine campaign and help light up the 75,000 bulbs on the 50-foot Christmas tree in front of the hospital.

From December 1 to January 2, subscribers to Videotron's illico service will be asked to help give sick kids and their families some hope and comfort by going to the Holiday Magic section on channel 900 (on illico) and donating $2, $5 or $10. All proceeds will be turned over to the Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation.

Videotron is also pleased to be the presenter of the last stage of the lighting of the Christmas tree on December 11, when the great white star at the top will be switched on. MAtv will also air video shorts featuring well-known personalities supporting the cause until the tree is fully lit.

“We are proud to be part of the Grand sapin de Sainte-Justine campaign,” said Manon Brouillette, President and CEO of Videotron. “Putting Videotron's and MAtv's resources behind this noble holiday tradition is our way of turning a ray of light on the cause and ultimately making a difference in children's paths to recovery. This partnership is part of our commitment to Sainte-Justine hospital, an eminently worthwhile cause.”

Partnership helps brighten hospital stays for children and families
At the same time last year, Videotron switched on a fibre optic network that gives children and their families access to Wi-Fi at all times throughout Sainte-Justine hospital, compliments of Videotron. The Internet service for patients, their families, visitors and medical staff has helped make hospital stays a little bit less trying by making it possible for people to communicate with loved ones, for children to do their schoolwork and parents to do their work, and for patients and their families to enjoy online entertainment while at Sainte-Justine, little things that can make a big difference during the holidays.
