More than 7,800 toll-free calls to Chile : Free calling period ends

Montréal, March 30, 2010 – On March 8, 2010, Videotron announced free long-distance calling to Chile for residential telephone customers through March 31. With less than 24 hours to go, Videotron customers have made more than 7,800 toll-free calls to Chile totalling nearly 134,000 long-distance minutes.

“We wanted to support Québec families affected by the February 27 earthquake by letting our customers communicate with loved ones in Chile free of charge,” said Robert Dépatie, President and Chief Executive Officer of Videotron. “We hope that our effort to keep the lines to this devastated country, only a few weeks after Haiti, open helped keep people connected despite the terrible catastrophe.”

Rates starting at $0.10 per minute for long-distance calls to Chile will be available as of Thursday, April 1.
