Montréal, May 11, 2021 - With the weather warming up, many Montrealers are looking to get back into shape. Ever responsive to its viewers’ interests, the community channel MAtv is airing several programs about fitness and wellness. In the current situation, Pause tonique, Cardio55+, Yoga doux and Sarah Yoga are a great way to get moving and take care of yourself without leaving the house.
These programs are for everyone, regardless of age or physical condition. They are broadcast Monday to Saturday, starting at 7 a.m., and Monday to Friday, starting at 10 a.m. The episodes are also available on demand.
Get toned with Pause tonique
A recent addition to MAtv’s schedule, Pause tonique is a complete 30-minute daily workout based on a variety of techniques, including Pilates, yoga, bar exercises and dance. Host Aude Rioland leads viewers in accessible and varied exercises adapted for three levels of difficulty.
Designed to be done at home with little equipment, these workouts provide instant wellness while toning and trimming the body. An invigorating series that revolves around body awareness, posture, balance, coordination, strength and breathing. Watch the trailer.
Programs that boost vitality
Jean Hébert, host of the popular Cardio55+ series, offers a targeted training program for active seniors. Along with Gabrielle Chapdelaine and guests, he presents lifestyle tips on topics of interest such as nutrition, back health, diabetes, osteoporosis and Alzheimer’s. Cardio55+ offers a series of functional and varied exercises, ranging from cardio to weight training to dance. This morning show gives viewers an opportunity to try out various techniques, such as yoga, Pilates and Swiss ball.
Looking for a gentle workout combined with breathing exercises? Yoga doux, led by Annie Courtecuisse, offers yoga adapted to each person’s condition. Just go with the non-competitive flow and respect your limits. Yoga is a toolbox that enables you to inject focus into your exercise routine in order to improve your health and relieve tension. Breathing awareness, breathing exercises, joint exercises, postures, sun greetings and relaxation will help you start your day on the right foot.

Also, Sarah Philibert, the host of Sarah yoga, takes viewers to the next level by showing them how to progress in the postures and increase their intensity. She draws on creative energy, gentle yoga, power yoga, concentration and female energy to balance body and mind. Filmed in the enchanting setting of Île Saint-Quentin Park in Trois-Rivières, the program transports viewers from their living room into nature.
