Montréal, April 1st , 2014 – In line with its commitment to give its customers more of the best in entertainment, Videotron is releasing its new illico app for iPhone 4 and 5 (5C and 5S)1 today. The announcement coincides with the addition of Apple mobile devices to Videotron's extensive line-up of mobile hardware. “Our new illico app for the iPhone will meet our customers' expectations more effectively than ever,” said Isabelle Dessureault, Vice President, Content Operations & Public Affairs, of Videotron. “Combining the richest selection of mobile entertainment in Québec with the innovative features and reliability of the iPhone can only make for a happy marriage!”

The best content at one's fingertips
An instant hit on the iPad, the illico app now coming to the iPhone makes thousands of hours of programming in French and English, including an unrivalled selection of content for children, available to subscribers to Videotron's cable television service, free of charge. In all, nearly 50 television channels are at the user's fingertips.

Comedy fans will also enjoy access to the wacky content of Lib tv, Canada's first all-mobile channel, which celebrated its third year in style with unique webseries such as “Pitch” and “Anne ovule.”

To introduce new users to the app, Videotron will offer all of its customers a free preview of the LCN and MAtv channels on the iPhone app at launch, plus access to a selection of free content.

illico in the palm of your hand
The illico app for iPhone offers iPhone users all the functionalities supported by the other illico apps enjoyed by subscribers to Videotron's digital television service. For example, customers can use the app to remotely program their personal video recorder (PVR) or to view the full TV schedule.

A free download from the App Store, the app created by Videotron's talented developers lets Videotron customers watch the most popular shows from many of the channels in their cable plan, when they want, where they want. Users will have two ways to access the best in entertainment: live streaming and video on demand.

On-the-go television viewers can start, pause and resume play of on-demand content on the device of their choice: TV (channel 900), Android or iPhone handset (illico mobile), computer (illico.tv), or iPad or Android tablet (illico app).

The illico app for iPhone can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store as of today.
