As Senior Vice-President and Chief Technology Officer, Mohamed Drif leads the design, build-out and operation of Videotron's main networks, as well as IT development, implementation and support. His passion for innovation and deep knowledge of the industry enable him to foresee technological trends, design cutting-edge digital solutions and deliver a superior customer experience. He ensures that Videotron remains at the technological cutting edge by targeting value-added opportunities and translating them into innovative strategies.
Since joining Videotron in March 1999 as Supervisor, Fibre Optics Management, Mohamed Drif has participated in many strategic projects, including the Greater Montréal modernization program and the network development strategy. He contributed to the launch of the Helix platform, developed on the basis of Comcast technology, and to implementation of Fibre to the Neighbourhood architecture, which brings Videotron customers the full power and reliability of fibre optics.
Mohamed previously worked at Axion Cable as Director of Engineering and has also worked in the field of software development in France. He holds a State Engineer degree from the University of Oran in Algeria and is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec. His 20 years-plus of experience in telecommunications and extensive expertise in optical networks and headends have been instrumental in the development of Videotron’s reliable and powerful network.
