Security: Reporting SMS scams

At Videotron, we take security very seriously and ensure that our customers are protected from suspicious or fraudulent text messages (SMS).

Our protection against unwanted SMS

Our software for detecting unwanted text messages works continuously to search, locate and block these suspicious SMS messages before you even receive them on your mobile device.

As new types of SMS scams continually emerge, we regularly optimize our filters according to the latest reports.

What to do if you receive a suspicious or fraudulent SMS

If you think you’ve received an SMS scam, do not under any circumstance tap the links in the message. This will prevent you from ending up on a malicious site or installing harmful software, spyware, ransomware or viruses that could compromise your device and make it vulnerable to the theft of your personal information.

Instead, transfer the suspicious message to 7726 (SPAM) so we can start an investigation. This service is free and does not affect your mobile plan.

Important: We will process the collected data confidentially so that we may adjust our filters for the benefit of the entire community. You will thereby be contributing to the collective effort to combat SMS scamming.
