Montréal, November 4, 2020 - Videotron has created a new weekly series to promote Québec cinema as part of #culturedici, the movement to support Québec culture that Quebecor launched in spring 2020. Every week, Videotron will give its customers access to a wide selection of work by its Québec film personality of the week.
In all, six prominent Québec film artists beloved by audiences will be featured: Patrick Huard, Pascale Bussières, Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge, Marc Messier, Anne Dorval and Luc Picard. The selection of content, much of it from the Éléphant: The memory of Québec cinema catalogue, will be posted in the #culturedici section on Helix and illico every Wednesday from today through December 9, 2020, and will remain available on demand for one week.
“The Quebecor family continues to pour its energies into promoting Québec culture and Québec artists,” says Pierre Karl Péladeau, President and CEO of Quebecor. “This latest initiative from Videotron will encourage audiences to discover Québec films of all genres, because the best way to support our culture and contribute to its vitality is to consume Québec culture on local platforms.”
“Videotron is proud to be part of Quebecor’s #culturedici movement through this initiative,” adds Caroline Paquet, Vice President, Marketing and Content of Videotron. “We want to showcase on illico and Helix the impressive and inspirational careers of artists who are helping to shape our culture. With this weekly series, Videotron is offering easy access to quality Québec productions that feature local talent in all its forms.”
For the first installment, Videotron invites audiences to enjoy the work of Patrick Huard again or for the first time. Viewers will be able to see some of the highlights of his acting and directing career, including Starbuck (2011), Les 3 P’tits Cochons (2007), Bon Cop, Bad Cop (2006) and many others.
