Videotron will be part of the fun at Just for Laughs

June 20, 2014 - Press Release

Montréal, June 20, 2014 – For the eighth consecutive year, Videotron is taking to the streets to entertain attendees at the Juste pour rire / Just for Laughs Festival. Videotron will be an official sponsor and partner of the event's 32nd edition, to be held from July 12 to 26, 2014. Québec's telecommunications and entertainment leader will set up information stands in the streets of Montréal during the Festival and allow fans of comedy to access wide-ranging humorous content anytime, anywhere, on the mobile screen of their choice.

Laughs on Indigo and illico
In addition to enjoying the offerings at the site, comedy buffs will be able to catch the Vidéotron Juste pour rire galas starring Laurent Paquin, André-Philippe Gagnon and Pierre Verville, Mike Ward, François Bellefeuille, Maxim Martin and Anaïs Favron, Charles Lafortune and Stéphan Bureau (tribute to Gilles Latulippe), as well as the Jean-Marc Parent event, live on Indigo between July 13 and 21. The shows will also be available on channel 900 and illico.tv just one day after the original broadcast. Starting July 4, other droll shorts and events, such as show highlights and Juste pour Rire en direct, will be available on the same platforms.

New illico app for the iPad keeps Festival-goers plugged into all the action
Visitors to the comedy fest will be able to go hands-on with the brand-new illico app for the iPad and try out its various functions at any of the Videotron info stands. illico for the iPad is the only app that serves up the entire illico catalogue, including live TV, programs stored on the user's multi-room recorder, Club illico, and both free and paid on-demand content. illico for the iPad is at once a customized, multi-screen illico viewer that consumers can use to stream live TV or archived content, and a social app that transforms the television experience by making it more interactive and entertaining than it has ever been. It is the perfect app to get the most out of the wackiest festival of all!

The new version of the illico app for the iPad is now available on the Apple App Store and can be accessed from anywhere in Québec.

Videotron to the rescue at the Festival site and on Twitter
To help offer festival-goers the best possible experience, Videotron will install mobile phone charging stations at the Festival site. Visitors will be able to recharge any type of mobile device (Android, iPhone, etc.) and access free Wi-Fi at the stations.

For the first time this year, Videotron will offer the services of a virtual assistant every day from 9 AM to 11 PM during the Festival to answer questions about the event. Tweets containing the hashtag #inforire will get an instant response.

The three Videotron info stands scattered around the site have been revamped to deliver the best possible experience by providing visitors with all the information they need to avoid missing anything at the Festival's 32nd edition. Festival-goers will also be able to access Just for Laughs content at the site with the new illico app for the iPad. Enjoy the Fest!
