Videotron presents its best practices to the Commission

Montréal, October 25, 2018 – Earlier today, Videotron reported on its fair sales practices at the CRTC hearings in Gatineau and answered questions from the Commission.

“Our ongoing commitment to offer customers peerless service reflects our customer-centric approach to decision-making,” Videotron's statement noted. “That's why our business model is based on freedom of choice, flexibility for customers, and transparent offers.”

In one indication of the trusting relationship Videotron has built with its customers over the years, it ranked first among Québec telecommunications retailers on Léger's WOW index for the sixth year in a row. Videotron was also rated the most respected telecommunications company in Québec on Léger's 2018 Reputation survey for the thirteenth time.

Videotron has a strong track record when it comes to complaints about its sales practices, owing to its responsible conduct in all relations with customers and its well-established policies to support fair dealing.

Effective measures already exist

In keeping with its commitment to transparency, Videotron provides customers with all the information they need to make informed decisions on its website and in personal contacts by phone, at the stores and during home visits.

Videotron also takes all possible measures to prevent its employees from engaging in misleading or aggressive sales practices. Sales representatives are trained to behave in accordance with the company's values and expectations.

In recent years, Videotron's has worked to simplify and clarify its consumer service contracts, with the help of the plain language experts at Éducaloi.

In view of the fact that Videotron is in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, it believes the CRTC should recommend measures that target the worst offenders in order to protect consumers.
