Québec’s flagship telecom supports vital project for the community
Amos, September 24, 2020 – After its recent expansion to Abitibi, Videotron is pleased to announce a 10-year partnership with the Maison des jeunes d’Amos. Under the agreement, Videotron will provide Helix TV and Internet services free of charge to the youth centre’s clientele and donate $50,000 to support the organization’s projects.
“I can’t describe the warmth of the welcome we’ve received from the people of Amos since our arrival,” says Jean-François Pruneau, President and CEO of Videotron. “We couldn’t be happier to get involved in the community and support its efforts in order to carry out projects that are promising and important for us all.”
“The 2018 fire at the youth centre left a void for many young people in the region and we want to thank our 100th partner, Videotron, for joining the outpouring of generosity from our Amos community,” says Kate Dessureault, the youth centre’s executive director. “We know that quality facilities and services make a real difference in the lives of kids aged 11 to 17. So it made sense to go to Videotron for telecommunication and entertainment services.”
Among other things, the money donated by Videotron will be used to create Cinéma Vidéotron, a multifunctional meeting place where a multitude of activities by and for Amos youths can be held.
