Vidéotron lauches drive to hire customer service and tecnical support staff

June 2, 2005 - Press Release

Montréal, June 3, 2005 - Vidéotron is launching a recruitment campaign to fill numerous positions at its customer contact centres in Montréal, St-Hubert and Québec City. The fast-growing company is looking for customer service and technical support representatives.

Candidates should have relevant experience in the field, be bilingual and be available to work evenings and weekends. Vidéotron will hold screening interviews by telephone during the week of June 6. Selected candidates will be asked to come to the Saint-Hubert customer contact centre for a job interview on June 10.

“Vidéotron is a home-grown company that is committed to creating sustainable local jobs,” said Normand Vachon, Vice President, Human Resources. “We have nearly 1,000 employees at our customer contact centres. We offer permanent jobs with a 37.5 hour work week. Joining Vidéotron means becoming part of a growing, fast-changing company that provides innovative products and services and offers stimulating challenges.”

Montréal, call centre capital
Since Montréal has one of the highest per capita rates of call centre employment of any city in the world, hiring is a challenge. One of the reasons for the new recruitment campaign is the positive consumer response to the introduction of cable telephone service in some parts of Québec, which has exceeded expectations.

“The purpose of our hiring drive is to meet growing customer demand as effectively as possible,” said Robert Dépatie, President and Chief Executive Officer of Vidéotron ltée. “The employees who work in our customer contact centres are key people in our business who play a central role in accomplishing our mission, which is to provide the best possible user experience.”

Vidéotron has two call centres in the greater Montréal area (including the 500-employee facility in Saint-Hubert, the largest customer contact centre on the South Shore) and another in Québec City. Vidéotron offers competitive salaries, a full benefits package, and a pleasant, stimulating work environment.

Interested candidates should e-mail their résumé to vlccc@videotron.com, indicating “M” on the subject line if they are seeking a position in Montréal, “SH” for Saint-Hubert, and “Q” for Québec City.
