Montréal, September 9, 2009 – Starting today, golf fans can follow the exploits of the world's greatest golfers at major golfing events on Golf Channel HD (channel 713 in HD and channel 113 in standard definition). All illico Digital TV subscribers with HD service will enjoy a free preview of the Golf Channel for the first month. The Golf Channel carries coverage of the major international golf tournaments, tips from the pros, phone-in shows, exclusive interviews and visits to the most beautiful courses in the world. In 2008, it became the first all-sport channel to garner an Emmy Award, in recognition of its innovative use of technology.
Videotron is continuing its efforts to offer customers an unparalleled package of varied, high-quality entertainment, said Myrianne Collin, Vice President, Marketing, Consumer Division. We also plan to continue expanding our HD offerings in the coming months. Videotron recently added Évasion HD and TV5 HD to its channel line-up, and it is now carrying Golf Channel for sport fans. With this latest addition, subscribers to illico Digital TV have access to 40 HD channels.
Subscribers to illico Digital TV can choose from a total of more than 350 channels, including 40 HD channels. Customers receive the HD versions of the standard digital channels included in their package.
