Montréal, April 1, 2015 – In response to a Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) decision issued in February 2015, Videotron announced today that it created the MAtv Citizen Advisory Committee on March 15, 2015, as directed by the CRTC.
Membership reflects Greater Montréal realities
Videotron has formed a committee in the image of the Greater Montréal area. The committee's members work at or are involved in organizations that play an important role in the life of the city and address the following areas of concern:
English-speaking community
Arts and culture
Social economy
Montréal's business community
Gender equality and status of women
Quality of life of Aboriginal people
Ethnic communities
Student life
Nine citizens for television that brings people together
At the end of our recruitment effort, nine citizens who are engaged with the community and reflect Montréal's vigour and dynamism agreed to sit on the committee. Their roles in the community and professional backgrounds will help MAtv make sure that its programming is of interest to and representative of all segments of Montréal society. The purpose is to give voice to the city's cultural, economic and social life and to reflect its multicultural character.

Fortner Anderson, English-Language ARTS Network (ELAN)
ELAN provides support, services and networking opportunities to English-speaking artists in all disciplines.
Éric Lefebvre, Director of Development, Quartier des spectacles Partnership
The Quartier des spectacles Partnership's mission is to actively contribute, in conjunction with public authorities and other stakeholders in the Montréal area, to the development and cultural growth of the Quartier des spectacles.
Annie Billington, Coordinator, Communications and Community Relations, Culture Montréal
Culture Montréal's mission is to assert the central role of the arts and culture in all areas of Montreal's development.
Martin Frappier, Director of Communications, Chantier de l'économie sociale
The Chantier de l'économie sociale is a Montréal-based organization that works to promote the social economy as an integral part of Québec's economy.
Marie-Pier Veilleux, Director, Strategic Forums, International Leaders, and Special Projects, Board of Trade of Metropolitan Montreal

Videotron will renew its distribution licences for the Greater Montréal area in the coming months. In its renewal applications, it will describe the concrete action it plans to take in order to restore MAtv's compliance.
MAtv, THE COMMUNITY MEETING PLACE POWERED BY VIDEOTRON
MATV is the community channel for Videotron customers. It is open to all. MATV offers useful, informative and educational multi-screen television programming in a connected, entertaining environment. It provides a platform for Québec's communities and a springboard for emerging talent. MATV reflects local realities of concern to the 1.8 million households it serves in the Montréal, Québec City-Lévis, Sherbrooke, Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Sorel-Tracy, Granby, Bas-Saint-Laurent, Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean and Outaouais areas. MAtv is carried on channel 9 and in HD on channel 609. It is also available on illico TV (channel 900) on the Web (illico.tv), on iPad and Android tablets (through the illico.tv app) and on illico mobile.
