On this Earth Day, meet Stéphane Labrecque, our fleet manager.
What project are you currently working on?
I am in charge of fleet management for Videotron. In collaboration with Quebecor, we have set ourselves the goal of having a 100% electric fleet by 2030. This project takes up a large part of my time.
In practical terms, what does it mean to have an all-electric fleet?
Well, it means more than having cars that don’t run on fossil fuels. We need to completely rethink the way we work and how we serve our customers.
For example, we’ll have to organize our trips taking into account the fact that we won’t be able to stop along the way to refuel or plug in.
Also, electrification of vehicles is a booming field and things are moving fast, so we have to keep up with the latest technology and ways of working with them.
To you, what does it mean to be more “green”?
I am proud to be able to work on a corporate project that supports the collective effort to reduce our environmental footprint. Especially since this is the only project of its kind in the country.
We have to question our daily activities to see how we could adopt more environmentally friendly habits.
Thank you Stéphane Labrecque and the entire fleet team for your involvement in this ambitious project.
