Montréal, June 17, 2021 - Subscribers to the new Vrai platform can look forward to six original productions that will appeal to every comedic taste. The menu will include standup acts by well-known comics, zany up-and-coming artists, retrospectives and hilarious new discoveries. Produced by local artists in collaboration with Quebecor Content, the programs will feature performances by beloved popular favourites as well as the irreverent work of tomorrow’s stars.
Mes numéros marquants
Jean-Michel Anctil came up with the idea of inviting some of Québec’s most prominent comics to relive three acts that were turning points in their careers: the first one, the most memorable one and the one they are most proud of. Interspersed with archival footage, revelations and surprises, the ten 30-minute shows will explore the careers of Rachid Badouri, Michel Barrette, François Bellefeuille, Cathy Gauthier, Mariana Mazza, Claude Meunier, P-A Méthot, Martin Petit, Dominic Paquet and Laurent Paquin. Spontaneous, warm and respected by his peers, Jean-Michel Anctil is the ideal host to get his guests to open up about aspects of their lives the public doesn’t know about. Dans ma tête
After a successful run on TVA, Patrick Groulx’s popular concept is back on Vrai with ten 30-minute episodes. The Pixcom production Dans ma tête shifts between the stage and drama, as the featured comics take viewers into imaginary worlds and lead them on a series of wild and stupefying adventures. In each episode, Patrick Groulx and his guest each perform an act before an audience, which gradually turns into an imaginary tale. The audience is drawn into the story and its origins, traveling back to the roots of the monologue and the situation that inspired it. New additions to the format include cameos, stunts and some surprises for the audience. Producer Martin Roy, who directed and produced the first edition, is the showrunner. Marc G. Carbonneau directs, with assitance from Fredéric Nassif, Raphaël Malo and others.
La Cabane : confessions humoristiques
In a strange cabin cut off from the world, comics and other guests with a gift for repartee answer questions of all kinds. They are on their own: they must tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth! Each episode focuses on one or two subjects to reveal things we never knew about our favourite personalities. You’ll hear Jean-Michel Anctil, Rosalie Vaillancourt, Dominic Paquet, Les Denis Drolet, Alex Perron, Guillaume Lemay-Thivierge and Émily Bégin, to name just a few, open up about family, food, their fears, their blunders and even their sex lives, with humour mixed with other emotions. La Cabane is 30 minutes of entertaining confessions, produced by ComediHa! and directed by Mathieu Baer and Francis Cloutier. If you’re ready for a laugh a minute, step inside!
La série One mini show ComediHa!
La série One mini show ComediHa!, filmed at the Théâtre Petit Champlain in Québec City and directed by Raphaël Malo, turns the spotlight on the next generation of comedians. The series showcases six promising young comics, each of whom gets one episode: Mike Beaudoin, Alexandre Bisaillon, François Boulianne, Étienne Dano, Charles Pellerin and Eddy King. Each 30-minute episode contains a compilation of their best acts interspersed with interviews. La série One mini show ComediHa! is an introduction to artists with different styles, personalities and approaches to humour who share a talent for making people laugh.

Bianca Longpré’s feel-good family anecdotes are back! After her first successful one-woman show, the comic returns to the stage with her take on fertility and pregnancy. Produced by 1R2D and directed by Luc Sirois, Mère Ordinaire 2 is a live show that tells the story of Bianca’s journey to motherhood for the fourth time. It is an authentic account that all parents who juggle cooking, visits to the zoo and daily challenges, not to mention the joys of married life, will be able to relate to. A jog through family life that is sure to make moms laugh!

The zany, sometimes biting , always entertaining show Le chaînon manquant, directed by Raphaël Malo, is a vehicle for comic Mathieu Cyr. Mathieu is a hyperactive guy who is bored by routine and irritated by convention. He has always felt a bit out of step – so much so that he describes himself as “the missing link of comedy.” His odd journey has taken him off the beaten path to experiences such as homeschooling his children and living in a commune with another family. When nothing exciting is happening, he invents a challenge – or several! With Mathieu’s unusual ideas and eccentric lifestyle, he doesn’t have to invent anecdotes; his life is comedy that writes itself! Le chaînon manquant is about another way of feeling, saying and doing, told in Mathieu Cyr’s energetic, unapologetic voice. The recording of the show was produced by ComediHa!
