Videotron lengthens its multi-screen lead

Montréal, March 9, 2011 — Speaking at a Journée Infopresse conference on the new television landscape, Manon Brouillette, Executive Vice President, Strategy and Marketing, Videotron, confirmed Videotron's determination to remain an industry leader and gave an overview of the Company's innovation roadmap. With the launch of its new, optimized illico TV ecosystem featuring a string of innovations, Videotron will soon be offering its customers the most advanced multi-screen experience in Canada.

Simplified, customized, harmonized product
The technologically advanced illico service that Videotron will introduce later this year will offer user interfaces that are fast, intuitive, effective and fun. Managing recordings will be easier, with an automated sorting capability by program genre or type. The video on demand menu will be enhanced with the addition of a much more advanced search engine and simplified navigation.

“The evolution of illico will provide our customers with a new, customized television experience,” said Manon Brouillette. “illico TV will boast optimized navigation and a new look, while still carrying the largest selection of triple-screen content, French-language content and high-definition content, all in an open-ended environment. illico TV will continue to support pause-and-resume on three screens, an innovation introduced by Videotron in late 2010, in a new navigation environment that is perfectly harmonized with the other platforms, namely illico web and illico mobile.”

Carried by a reliable, Québec-wide network
The illico TV experience will be powerfully supported by Videotron's fibre optic/coax network, recognized for 10 years as the most reliable in the industry. “Our cutting-edge, robust network will give our customers across Québec access to the latest technology,” said Manon Brouillette.

The introduction of the next generation of illico comes in the wake of the launch of illico web, which is being developed into a mirror of illico TV and currently carries 45 television channels, 45 all-music channels, 4,000 video on demand titles and the largest available selection of live channels, and of illico mobile, the only service of its kind at this time with more than 2,000 on-demand titles, 41 television channels and 45 all-music channels.
