Montréal, December 15, 2010 Videotron has announced that it is adding more movies, TV programs and series to its illico web platform. Illico web was launched in summer 2010 with an impressive line-up of live television and radio stations, which have logged more than 9 million listening and viewing minutes to date, and a wide and diverse selection of free content. As of today, customers are able to order paid content on the Internet television service, as on illico on demand. illico web now offers more than 3,000 titles. The catalogue is updated daily and will be expanded steadily in the weeks to come.
Our customers can now watch a large number of films and TV shows on their television sets, computers or mobiles, said Myrianne Collin, Vice President, Marketing, Consumer Division, of Videotron. Delivering content on three screens is consistent with the Videotron vision of enabling customers to enjoy entertainment content where they want, when they want, in a user-friendly, intuitive environment.
Popular movies and TV series
Current hit movies are now available on illico web in English and French, including international blockbusters such as Twilight: Hesitation, Grown Ups (which grossed over $255 million at the au box office) and Eat, Pray, Love, starring Julia Roberts and Quebec films such as Piché : The Landing of a Man.
Users will also be able to watch their favourite television series, such as Chambre en ville, Dexter, Hawaï 5.0 and Hero Corp in French, and Medium, Numb3rs and Prime Suspect in English. illico web is easy to use: customers log in with the same user name and password they use for Videotron's secure Customer Centre and the cost of the rental is added to their monthly bill.
New functionalities
The illico web platform is evolving and adding new functions. Users can now pause and resume play and memorize favourites. And since illico web launched, customers have used its easy remote video recorder programming feature more than 200,000 times. Visit illicoweb.tv to discover other features.
