Montréal, December 14, 2010 – On Saturday, December 18, live from the Pepsi Coliseum in Québec City, Indigo will carry the WBC, IBO and Ring world light heavyweight championship fight between the current title-holder, Laval's own Jean Pascal (26-1-0, 16 KO), and boxing legend Bernard Hopkins (51-5-1, 32 KO), who even at age 45 is the wiliest, most dangerous and most challenging adversary Pascal has ever faced.
Pascal will be defending his belt for the 4th time, having defeated challenger Chad Dawson on points on August 14. A win would confirm his standing in the top ranks of international boxing. At present, Pascal is the 14th-ranked boxer in the world, pound for pound, the highest position ever for a Québec boxer. If Hopkins wins, he will become the oldest boxer ever to claim a major world title, adding to his long list of boxing titles and records.
The historic battle starts at 7 p.m. on December 18. The fight card includes six other bouts featuring Québec boxers, including the talented young fighter Kevin Bizier (12-0-0, 8 KO).
