High-Tech Gaming Experience Thanks to Videotron

November 7, 2007 - Press Release

Montréal, November 8, 2007 — For the second consecutive year, Videotron is the official sponsor of the #1 video game festival in Canada, the ARCADIA Festival, which draws people of all ages interested in new technologies to Montréal. The Festival's third edition begins tomorrow for three days, and will be held at the Uniprix Stadium. It promises to be quite an enhanced experience thanks to Videotron.

At the Videotron kiosk: Guitar Hero, softphone, wireless battles…
Videotron will be at the heart of the activities for this third edition, as it becomes the driving force for the ARCADIA space station, among other things. Another main attraction at the Videotron kiosk will be the Guitar Kings event, where festival goers will be able to film their performance of Guitar Hero III and view it on the Entertainment section of the videotron.com Web site, just as if it were a real recorded rock concert! The best performances will be aired on the VOX and illico on Demand channels as part of a special broadcast.

Festival participants will also get the opportunity to try out the brand new Videotron softphone on two computers set up at the kiosk. The softphone, which was launched several weeks ago, is a unique innovation because it is the only device that combines video, multi-line and call management services, service quality and mobility.

Once again, wireless will head the podium, with several Videotron products available on site for you to discover. Among them is a series of new games, and the possibility of competing in a game series throughout the Festival. Participants can also take advantage of Videotron's high speed Internet service by using the thirty computer monitors and games available, in collaboration with Microplay, a SuperClub Videotron trade-mark.

Want to rest your feet for a while? Hit the lounge!
Videotron knows what it's all about. That's why a laid-back lounge has been set up at the Festival. Set up in the lounge are two high definition (HD) televisions equipped with personal HD digital recorders, making the lounge the best place to enjoy both the Festival and Videotron experience. This comfortable area will be enhanced by the special illico on Demand programming – ARCADIA version – because until November 30 we will be showing films dealing with video games. And last but not least, Videotron is setting up telephone booths where everyone can make free local calls during the Festival.

“The ARCADIA Festival offers enormous potential, because it brings together so many creative game designers, companies and individuals from all backgrounds,” said Manon Brouillette, Senior Vice President, Marketing, Content and Product Development, Consumer Division, Videotron. “The ARCADIA Festival is a fun opportunity for visitors to experience the Infinite Power of Cable and the reliability of Videotron's products and services for themselves. Once again this year, Videotron is pleased to be part of this celebration of the fusion of games and technology.”
