Montréal, September 28, 2010 Videotron is proud to partner with the Festival du nouveau cinéma (FNC), which is blazing new trails by becoming Canada's first multiplatform film fest. As a result of the joint effort by Videotron and the FNC to bring the festival to multiple screens, Videotron customers will be able to watch some 20 selected films from past festivals on illico.
We are very pleased to be part of the Festival's development and to help raise the profile of the FNC and the filmmakers at the new cinema fest through our platforms, said Claude Foisy, Vice President, Brand Management, of Videotron. This move to make FNC access available on video on demand during the Festival's run will help extend the Festival's reach and bring it to more movie buffs across Quebec.
Discover the FNC on illico
Starting October 10, illico TV and illico mobile will offer some 20 short and feature films from the FNC. The Festival will therefore take advantage of Videotron's technological platforms to make independent film available through new channels.
Videotron's illico TV and illico mobile services will have a section entirely dedicated to the Festival du nouveau cinéma: customers will be able to watch short films for only $0.99 and feature films for $4.99 on their television set or mobile screen. As well, Deux fois une femme, a film by François Delisle, will premiere simultaneously in the theatre and on illico.
Videotron presents FNC Lab
Videotron will also be front and centre at the Festival as official presenter of the FNC Lab section, a cinema lab which will screen some 15 original works and explore new ways to watch movies, focussing on new talent and experimentation.
Special program on VOX
In addition to sponsoring the FNC, VOX will air a daily special, Premières Vues – Festival du nouveau cinéma, from October 14 to 20. Host Frédéric Corbet will interview filmmakers with films at the FNC and preview Festival offerings.
