Basic Internet: Videotron makes Internet service 2.5 times faster

June 18, 2010 - Press Release

Montréal, June 18, 2010 — Videotron announces that the speed of its Basic Internet access service will increase from 1 mbps to 2.5 mbps. With this upgrade, Videotron continues to offer the fastest Internet access services on the Quebec market.

“The faster speed will further enhance user experience, letting Videotron customers download documents, music, movies and videos in half the time,” said Myrianne Collin, Vice President, Marketing, Consumer Division, of Videotron. “Videotron continues to address the growing needs of its customers, who are looking for more speed at a reasonable price. We are fully focussed on delivering a range of Internet services designed to meet the expectations of all consumers.”

Videotron Basic Internet service will support a transfer speed of 2.5 mbps with a transfer limit of 3 GB, for the same price of $27.95.
