September 22, 2015 - Press Release

MONTRÉAL, September 23, 2015 - Videotron today welcomed a report from the international firm OpenSignal which found Videotron's LTE network to be “the fastest in Canada.” The study measured LTE signal reception among 325,221 users of the OpenSignal app in 124 countries, including Canada. According to the data collected by UK-based OpenSignal, Videotron's LTE network has an average speed of 21 Mbps, compared with a maximum of 18 Mbps for its closest Canadian rivals.

“This study confirms once again that our customers have the benefit of a state-of-the-art network that supports the best possible user experience,” said Manon Brouillette, President and CEO of Videotron. “Our entire team is immensely proud of the LTE network we rolled out last year, which now boasts one of the largest coverage areas in the country.”

The OpenSignal report is the latest in a series of studies that show that Videotron's LTE network delivers superior performance. A Rootmetrics study conducted in July 2015 in Québec City ranked Videotron's LTE network first in performance and reliability. In 2014, Rootmetrics obtained similar results in Montréal, rating Videotron's LTE network the fastest and most reliable in the city.
