Mayweather vs. Ortiz LIVE on Indigo

Montréal, September 13, 2011 – Boxing fans can look forward to a big night on September 17, 2011. Starting at 8:30 p.m. Indigo will carry five fights live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Viewers will have ringside seats to three world championship bouts, including the eagerly anticipated encounter between undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. (41-0-0, 25 KOs) and Victor Ortiz (29-2-0, 22 KOs).


“Pretty Boy” Mayweather and “Vicious” Ortiz will be duking it out for the WBC world welterweight championship. The confrontation between the two Americans, aged 34 and 24 respectively, promises to be an epic battle. Mexico’s legendary Erik “El Terrible” Morales (51-7-2, 35 KOs) will fight undefeated Pablo Cesar Cano (22-0-1, 17 KOs), also of Mexico, for the vacant WBC junior welterweight title.


Then, live from Los Angeles, the young sensation and rising star of international boxing, Saul “El Canelo” Alvarez (37-0-1, 27 KOs), will defend his WBC super middleweight world title against the veteran Alfonso Gomez (23-4-2, 12 KOs), the man who defeated Arturo Gatti. The two Mexican boxers, both reknowned for their strength and combativeness, are expected to put on a thrilling show.


Finally, Indigo will carry the fight between Montréal’s Adonis “Superman” Stevenson (14-1-0, 11 KOs,) who will get a chance to show his stuff against Mayweather-trained Dion Savage (11-1-0, 6 KOs) of the U.S.
