Michel Allard Vice President, Engineering - Technological Development
Michel Allard has been with Videotron since 1989, first as Director, Digital Operations and Services, and then as Senior Director, Operations and Development at Videotron Telecom. When Videotron Telecom was merged with Videotron in 2005, he was appointed Vice President of Technological Development, a position he still holds today.
Under his leadership, the first softswitch (Nortel's CS-2K) was implemented and technological development of the following services was successfully carried out: cable telephone service, softphone, call display on illico and, most recently, the user interface for video on demand.
Michel Allard began his career in 1981 with Northern Telecom, now known as Nortel, as a quality control engineer, and subsequently, system engineer for optical transmission of voice, data and video.
Michel Allard holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Université de Sherbrooke and is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec.
